New Look Kings

I just knew it. The next step of the Sacramento Kings would be to trade Webber. And they did just that. However, the trade didn't go exactly as I planned. They didn't exactly get a marquee player to replace him. I was thinking Lamar Odom might have been the perfect fit or perhaps some nifty passing European forward. Oh well.

The upside of course is that Peja becomes the de facto go to guy (at least for 46 minutes). Mike Bibby naturally takes over during crunch time.

But who can play that high post like Webber? I can't think of anyone at this point.

This probably means that the Kings will have to change offensive sets now.

All these changes and I can't even install NBA Live 2005. Tsk tsk...

What does it mean when it says you don't get the breaks?

That means being able to install NBA Live 2005 up to 99% before encountering an error.

Sadistic, cruel fate?

The previous happening twice.

That said, I will have to shelve my fantasies of becoming a 6-10 power forward running the Princeton offense for another day. Sigh. A scandisk maybe the next most productive thing that I can do.

Ahem Ahem

Kwento my Ass

Tell me if this sounds familiar. An old friend calls you up from out of nowhere. You exchange quick pleasantries. Without any transition, he asks you to "make kwento."

Let me read between the lines.

Apparently not content invading your personal space (or NBA Live time), this friend also wants you to carry the conversation (read: think)!

That, to me, is an outrage.

As a caller, if you can't provide spontaneity, at least provide the effort. Otherwise, don't even call.

And that moment of crankiness was brought to you by...

NBA THOUGHTS

I can't believe that no one from the Sacramento Kings roster was selected as an All Star when four out of the five starters could have made it. Yao Ming over Brad Miller? Rashard Lewis over Peja and Chris Webber? Tsk tsk...

I'm guessing Chris Webber will be traded next year. But for whom? Elton Brand? Lamar Odom? Perhaps some European guy with a hard-to-pronounce-and-spell name? Then I predict breakout years for Peja and Mike Bibby.

Behind Enemy Lines

A couple of friends and I got around to discussing "Bona", which I heard was gayspeak for "rear entry". For the uninitiated (or pretentious), that does not mean a back door in your house.

That was a couple of days ago.

Today, about every dull moment was uplifted by "bona moments" and "bona conversations". For instance, I deduced that Bonamin must be the medicine for the headache (which head is the proper question) that proceeds "bona sessions". I also figured that Bona-cue is the process of inserting a banana-q in your rear. Someone also mentioned that bonafide must refer to a real backdoor entry or a genuine gay.

How about bonaril for shot from behind? Hmmm....more to come in the days that follow.

My Kinda Place

Rena and I had dinner recently at Papemelroti (the paper place, however it's spelled). I must say, it was exactly my kinda place. Before my friends start stereotyping me again, yes the price was fairly reasonable. So I'm cheap. Mea culpa. ;-)

Anyway, the pizza and pasta selection, the soup and salad were all delicious. The music was subdued. Books were all around. No crowds. The perfect conversation place. Tell me how it gets better than that?

In any case, Rena arranged all of that. She doesn't really do it for everyone, but I suppose she will if the price is right. *ka ching!* I'll handle all the pricing details of course. ;-)
